My name is Madison, and I met my husband Brock through mutual! I had just moved down to college at Southern Utah University and wanted to meet new people and go on some dates. I went on to mutual for a total of about 5 minutes and swiped up on 2 people and one of them was Brock.
He messaged me and we started talking. We set a date for the coming Friday and I was so nervous but excited to meet someone new. Brock and I’s first date was on September 10, 2021. He picked me up at my apartment and we went and got ice cream. We sat and talked until the shop closed and our plan was to go back and watch a movie. But, he asked me if we just wanted to keep talking and driving. I was comfortable with him and we were enjoying talking so I did what you should probably never do but we went to a lookout spot in the middle of nowhere and went star gazing.
We talked and talked. It felt so right and we had our first kiss. After that we went and watched a movie at his apartment. We hung out every single day for the next month until I had to go home for a weekend.
On December 24, 2021, Brock got down on one knee and proposed on a mountain trail in the snow (in the middle of nowhere). And I of course said yes.
We were married on May 3, 2022 in the Draper temple and we couldn’t be happier. I am so grateful for mutual and that I went on the app that day for those couple minutes.
I don’t know what I would do without Brock in my life but I am so happy that he’s stuck by my side forever
